The Student Scientific Society represents a voluntary, public organization comprising students actively engaged in scholarly research and scientific organizational endeavors within the domains of bachelor's and master's level education, particularly in the realm of medical education within higher medical educational institutions and residency programs. This society is tasked with the organization and coordination of students' scientific research efforts, serving as a veritable crucible for nurturing the research and creative talents of burgeoning scholars. Additionally, it plays a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing talented and capable students, thereby serving as a platform for students to showcase their depth of knowledge, competence, and dedication to scientific inquiry. Established in 1969 within Nakhchivan State University during its tenure as the Nakhchivan branch of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute, the Student Scientific Society has evolved over the years, currently boasting a membership of 100 undergraduate and graduate students. At the onset of each academic year, comprehensive information regarding the Technical and Executive Committee (TEC) is disseminated across all faculties, with particular emphasis on first-year students. Subsequently, chairpersons and members of the Faculty TEC are elected, marking the commencement of their activities. Students are assigned various research topics, typically revolving around the history, geography, natural sciences, arts, and notable figures of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Each student is provided with a mentor to guide them through their research endeavors, culminating in the presentation of their findings during final conferences held within their respective faculties toward the conclusion of the academic year. Distinguished students are further recognized through admission to university tours and participation in student scientific conferences facilitated by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, providing a prestigious platform for showcasing their scholarly achievements. Currently, approximately 1,000 students are actively engaged in diverse scientific research endeavors spanning a myriad of specialized fields. The Student Scientific Society also encompasses the Graduate Council and Career and Development Center, aimed at guiding students towards academic pursuits, enhancing their skill sets, and fostering their overall development. Leading the charge as the chairperson of the Student Scientific Society is Tabriza Baghirova, a second-year graduate student majoring in international relations and diplomacy.
