Participation in the Silk Road IoT Hackathon
A team from the SDG Club actively participated in the Silk Road IoT Hackathon held at the Innovation Center of Nakhchivan State University and received a certificate. The hackathon was related to SDGs 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Excursion to the Nakhchivan Fortress Architectural Complex
On the occasion of the International Day for Monuments and Sites, a 20-member SDG team from Nakhchivan State University visited the Nakhchivan Fortress Architectural Complex. The excursion contributed to increasing participants’ knowledge of historical and cultural heritage and was related to SDGs 4 and 11.
Educational meeting at Momine Khatun Park
A meeting was held with SDG young people at Momine Khatun Park. An educational question-and-answer competition was organized, information about the Sustainable Development Goals was provided, and a number of engaging games were conducted. The activity was related to SDG 4 (Quality Education).
Intellectual competition & SDG Hackathon
An intellectual competition was held at Momine Khatun Park, and participants who achieved places in the competition were awarded diplomas. The event contributed to the development of young people’s knowledge and general awareness and was related to SDG 4.
On 30 April, the SDG Club organized an SDG Hackathon. Eight teams participated in the hackathon, and the winning teams were awarded certificates. The event aimed to develop participants’ innovative thinking, teamwork and project-development skills.
Excursion to the Bakhruz Kangarli Exhibition Hall
The SDG Club of Nakhchivan State University organized an excursion to the Bakhruz Kangarli Exhibition Hall to visit the exhibition entitled “Diego: A Promise of a Better Future,” dedicated to the Anahuacalli Museum collection and organized with the participation of the Mexican Ambassador to Azerbaijan and the Union of Artists. The activity was related to SDGs 4 and 17.
Participation in the Culture Flow Ideathon
Three different teams representing the SDG Club of Nakhchivan State University participated in the Culture Flow Ideathon. The ideathon contributed to the development of young people’s creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and teamwork skills. The activity was related to SDGs 4, 8, 9 and 11.
Awareness-raising event on the Sustainable Development Goals
An awareness-raising event on the Sustainable Development Goals was organized jointly by Nakhchivan State University and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Forty young people from the SDG Club actively participated in the event. Participants were informed about the main directions and objectives of sustainable development.
Volunteer participation in a block examination
Fifteen young people from the SDG Club participated as invigilators in the block examination held at Nakhchivan State University for 11th-grade students. The volunteers provided support in the organization of the examination process.
Eco Farm Innovative Hackathon
On 13 May, three teams from the SDG Club participated in the Eco Farm Innovative Hackathon held at the Innovation Center of Nakhchivan State University. The SDG Club’s “Greenova” team won first place. The hackathon was related to SDGs 2 (Zero Hunger), 9, 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 13 (Climate Action).
Excursion to the Botanical Garden
On 15 May, an excursion to the Botanical Garden was organized by the SDG Club team of Nakhchivan State University. The excursion focused on plant diversity, environmental protection and ecological awareness. The activity was related to SDGs 4, 13 and 15 (Life on Land).
Smart City and Smart Village Startup Festival
Two teams from the SDG Club participated in the Smart City and Smart Village Startup Festival and presented their projects. This participation directly addressed SDGs 4, 8, 9, 11 and 17 through innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, sustainable urban development and partnerships.
Volunteering at the Return to Western Azerbaijan Festival and the Graduate 2026 Career Fair
Fifty active young people from the SDG Club worked as volunteers at the Return to Western Azerbaijan Festival. In addition, they participated in volunteer activities at the “Graduate 2026” event and the Career Fair. These activities contributed to strengthening young people’s civic engagement, supporting event organization and promoting a culture of volunteering.
