SDG Club

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), outlined in the "2030 Sustainable Development Agenda" adopted by world leaders at the historic UN summit in September 2015, officially commenced on January 1, 2016. These goals, which are inclusive and universal, commit countries to the principle of "leaving no one behind" over the next fifteen years. Sustainable development, as defined by the agenda, is development that meets present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The SDGs aim to transform our world, addressing issues ranging from health and gender equality to education, mobilizing global efforts to eradicate poverty, combat inequalities, and mitigate climate change. The SDG Club was founded at Nakhchivan State University and currently comprises 240 members, including a chairman and two deputies. Since its establishment, the club has successfully executed approximately 20 projects within Nakhchivan State University, exemplifying the principles of the SDGs. Some notable projects include: 1. "Speak to let them know" seminar by Jalala Nazaroglu, aligning with SDG principles 4, 5, and 17. 2. "Healthy Camp" project focusing on SDG principles 3, 4, and 15. 3. Training sessions on effective communication and public speaking by Orkhan Shahbazov, in accordance with the 4th principle of SDGs. 4. Journalism knowledge development and application training by Lala Azertash, reflecting SDG 4 principles. 5. Business training sessions by Najaf Allahverdiyev on time management and goal setting, aligned with SDG principle 17. 6. The "Microsoft IT Certifications" session by Parvin Asadov was conducted in accordance with the 4th principle of the SDGs. The main goals and objectives of the SDG Club are as follows: 1. Contributing to the global endeavor of achieving the SDGs. 2. Eradicating all forms of poverty. 3. Combatting climate change. 4. Reducing inequality. 5. Promoting quality education. 6. Preserving health. The club's staff operates according to the following work schedule: 1. Project Department: Organizing and implementing projects in line with the 17 principles of the SDG Club. 2. Media Department: Capturing photos and videos of club projects for dissemination on social media and the club's official website. 3. Public Relations Department: Facilitating collaborations with other public, private, and non-governmental organizations. 4. Volunteer Engagement: Recruiting and informing volunteers about the club's activities. 5. Coordination Department: Organizing events, managing guest accommodation, and overseeing event logistics.
