Sustainable cities and communities

Nakhchivan State University (NSU), placing significant emphasis on sustainability, actively engages in discussions about the potential contributions to sustainable cities. Collaborating with personnel from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, academic staff, and individuals from various sectors, the university explores possibilities for enhancing sustainability in urban areas. Within this framework, NSU's academic departments, research centers, and student communities organize diverse activities. Noteworthy achievements in the Accessible University Awards highlight the university's commitment to sustainability, evident in the energy performance certificates for its buildings. All structures owned by the university are open for public use, ensuring broader access to our facilities. NSU prioritizes the preservation of living spaces, safeguarding green and wetland areas within its boundaries. These areas are protected, and construction activities avoid encroaching on these vital ecological zones. Regular tree planting initiatives underscore NSU's commitment to environmental conservation.
