Within the framework of the “International Training Month,” Nakhchivan State University hosted a training session on “Academic Research Skills” delivered by Associate Professor Bahadır Fatih Yıldırım from Istanbul University. The training provided participants with information on modern approaches to the key stages of scientific research activities. Topics such as literature search, proper citation practices, data analysis, and data visualization were discussed. The presentation particularly highlighted the use of visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI for data analysis, as well as various elements of academic writing. The role of artificial intelligence in research was also discussed separately, with demonstrations on the use of tools such as Consensus, ChatPDF, and ChatGPT. The training further focused on research ethics and plagiarism prevention. Detailed information was provided on the ethical use of artificial intelligence and data privacy issues. Finally, the publication process and research visibility were explained, emphasizing the importance of creating academic profiles on platforms such as ORCID, ResearcherID, ResearchGate, and Google Scholar.
