On the occasion of December 5 – International Volunteer Day, a camp called “Volunteerfest” was organized at the Aghbulag Recreation Center through the joint organization of Nakhchivan State University and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Trade Unions Council. Volunteers from NSU student organizations, including the Student Youth Organization (SYO), Student Trade Union Committee (STUC), Student Scientific Society (SSS), and the European Medical Students’ Association (EMSA), participated in the camp. On December 5, at the opening ceremony of the camp, Nicat Yagubov, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of Nakhchivan State University, conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the university’s Rector, Elbrus Isayev, to the volunteers. Nicat Yagubov stated that the active participation of university students in various projects, events, and social initiatives contributes to the development of their initiative-taking, teamwork, and leadership skills. Subsequently, Khatira Ibrahimli, Deputy Chairperson of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Trade Unions Council, noted that volunteerism is also among the key areas of focus and attention of the Council. Later, Gunel Nur, Head of the Press and Public Relations Department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Trade Unions Council and coordinator of the Council’s volunteers, and Huseyn Imanov, Head of the Events Organization and Student Affairs Sector at Nakhchivan State University and coordinator of NSU volunteers, delivered speeches emphasizing that volunteerism plays a significant role not only in personal development but also in fostering social responsibility, unity, and a culture of solidarity. It should be noted that within the framework of “Volunteerfest,” various training sessions, interactive games, and intellectual competitions were organized for the students.
