The “Silk Road IoT Hackathon 2026” innovation-focused competition has been successfully concluded at Nakhchivan State University. Organized within the framework of the Silk Road concept, the hackathon was held as a two-day intensive program aimed at developing innovative technological solutions in the fields of transportation, logistics, and urban infrastructure. During the event, participating teams worked on projects in various directions and developed functional IoT prototypes in areas such as smart transportation systems, traffic management, logistics and cargo tracking technologies, IoT solutions for energy and the environment, as well as smart city and infrastructure technologies. The developed projects were presented in the form of fully functional prototypes and demonstrated live before the jury. This showcased the participants’ ability not only to generate ideas but also to develop applicable technological products. Based on the results of the hackathon, which involved 9 teams and more than 40 students, the first place was awarded to the team SolutionSquad for their project aimed at reducing urban congestion by dynamically adjusting traffic rules through traffic lights during peak hours. The second place went to the team Stevee for their prototype of a machine designed to improve the efficiency of ploughing, irrigation, and planting processes in the agricultural sector. The third place was awarded to the team Redemy for their project, which measures passenger data in a metro system and adjusts train movement based on that data. The “Silk Road IoT Hackathon 2026” is significant in terms of developing students’ innovative thinking skills, strengthening teamwork, and fostering technological approaches to real-world problems.
