The event was jointly organized by the National Abilympics Federation, the Social Services Agency, and Nakhchivan State University. Opening the event with introductory remarks, Nicat Yagubov, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations at Nakhchivan State University, welcomed the guests and participants and emphasized the significance of such initiatives. He also highlighted that persons with disabilities have always been among the university’s key priorities and areas of attention. Subsequently, Ilgar Rahimov, President of the National Abilympics Federation, stated that the primary objective of the competition is to identify and showcase the skills and talents of persons with disabilities, enhance their social engagement, and support the development of an inclusive society. He also spoke about the initiatives and achievements of the Federation in this field. Following this, Naib Alizade, Acting Chairman of the Board of the Social Services Agency, emphasized the importance of persons with disabilities developing their professional skills and participating in employment and self-employment programs. A total of 42 Abilympics participants competed in the championship across seven vocational categories, including performance on the piano, tar, saz, naghara, and garmon, as well as traditional mugham singing, weaving, and tailoring. Subsequently, Ilham Maharramov, a leading specialist of the National Abilympics Federation, delivered an informative presentation on the topic “The Abilympics Movement.” Following the presentation, the handicrafts submitted in the fields of weaving and tailoring were evaluated by the jury panel. It should be noted that the jury, composed of faculty members of Nakhchivan State University, was chaired by Vugar Jamalzade, an Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the conclusion of the championship, the winners were determined and honored during an award ceremony, after which a commemorative group photograph was taken.
