Nakhchivan State University Hosts Professional Development Training On Laboratory Operations And Practices

A professional development training on “Laboratory Safety Regulations, Quality Management Approaches, and the Monitoring of Quality Culture” was organized at the Innovation Center of Nakhchivan State University. The training was conducted by Sevinc Karimova, Head of the Strategic Development and Quality Assurance Department and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Nakhchivan State University, with the aim of enhancing the professional competencies of laboratory personnel. Aynura Seyidova, Head of the Department for Organization of Education at Nakhchivan State University, stated that laboratory classes play a vital role in the teaching process, and that laboratory managers, laboratory assistants, and preparatory staff are not only technical executors but also responsible individuals who directly oversee the quality of the practical learning process. It was noted that the reliability of any experiment or research conducted in the laboratory depends on the proper documentation of results, the safe and instruction-compliant use of equipment, and the effective coordination among team members. Such trainings contribute to a clearer understanding of role distribution among laboratory staff, the uniform application of safety standards, and, overall, the strengthening of a quality culture in laboratory activities. Laboratory managers, laboratory assistants, and preparatory staff from various faculties of Nakhchivan State University participated in the training. It should be noted that the training was conducted in accordance with the university’s guideline on “Safety Techniques and Accident Prevention Rules During Reliable Research and Practical Activities in Laboratories.” At the end of the session, participants’ questions regarding the topic were addressed and answered.
