A mock trial was conducted at the Supreme Court of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. This event saw the active participation of law students. The simulation, organized within the precincts of the Supreme Court, featured students from Nakhchivan State University's law program reenacting the trial phase of a criminal case involving theft as per the relevant statute of the Criminal Code. During the mock trial, students demonstrated various aspects of the legal proceedings, including judicial investigation, testimonies from the involved parties and witnesses, deliberations in the conference room, and the pronouncement of the verdict. Notably, Judges Ilgar Mirzayev, Sakhavat Beylerli, and Farman Abbasov from the Supreme Court of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic observed the students' performances in their roles as adjudicators. Following the trial simulation, a debriefing session took place where students engaged in discussions with the judges regarding the outcomes and procedures of the staged trial. Emphasis was placed on the significance of such experiential learning activities in fostering the professional development of aspiring legal practitioners. Furthermore, attention was drawn to a Memorandum signed between the Court and Nakhchivan State University, underscoring the commitment of the Supreme Court to augment both the theoretical and practical knowledge of law students. Plans were announced to continue implementing similar initiatives in the future. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participating students, acknowledging their roles in the mock trial, and a group photograph was taken to commemorate the occasion.
